Below you will find some general hints for the application procedure.
Please read the hints for the application first, as they apply to EU and non EU students, before you download the step-by-step-document.
Please make sure that you always write your first name and your surname in the same way - the same way it is written in your passport!

1) Application hints for students from the European Union

Applicants from countries within the European Union
Application period Your documents must reach the registration office at Luebeck University of Applied Sciences during the application period (details application period)
Application forms Please use forms 1 and 2 ("Application_Form_2008_1s.doc" and "Application_Form_2008_2s.doc").
The application can be accessed using our contact form that will be available at the beginning of the application period. Please print, fill in, and send back both forms.
Necessary application documents * Completed application forms 1 and 2 (hand signed)
* Officially certified copies of all diplomas
* Officially certified copies of original transcripts of grades (Your final average grade and the general margins of the grading system of the university must be recognizable)
* Official list of all subjects of previous study * Officially certified copy of passport
* Proof of English proficiency
Unnecessary documents Please do not attach the following documents:
* recommendation letters (it will not increase your chance of acceptance)
* documents from your early education or high school
* German language certificates
Costs of the application Free of charge
Proof of the English proficiency If you are not a native English speaker you must have an internationally accepted language test certificate such as the TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge Certificate. A score of at least 80 points (internet based TOEFL) or 550 points (paper based TOEFL) or a comparable result in another international test is required.
If you are unable to complete these English proficiency exams the following exceptions may apply:
1. English was the primary language of instruction for your school education.
2. At least five years of English language study in school.
3. At least six months of working or studying in an English speaking country.
4. English was the official language of your previous Bachelor's or Master's studies.
Certification of documents There are four possible ways to certify the necessary documents for the application:
1. German embassy
2. German consulate
3. The university which awarded your degree can certify its own documents (Note: this method is not valid for other documents such as a passport copy)
4. Any government authorized notary.
(Note: The notary must ask for a document which proves government authorization. Then attach this proof to your application.
Sending the documents Documents must be sent within the application period. Documents must reach the university by September 1st and all necessary documents must be attached. Please take postal delivery time into consideration. If necessary, use a fast postal service. Notification of receipt of documents will be sent by email or mail.

Selection procedure All applications which have reached us in a timely manor and fulfill the general requirements will take part in the selection process from January until September 1, 2008. The fee to uni-assist must be paid during the application procedure.
Decision about admission A decision about admission will be sent within three months after receiving the completed documents.

Application period Documents must reach the Uni-Assist organization in Berlin during the application period (details application period)
Application forms Please use forms 1 and 2 ("Application_Form_2008_1s.doc" and "Application_Form_2008_2s.doc").
The application can be accessed using our contact form that will be available at the beginning of the application period. Please print, fill in, and send back both forms.
Necessary application documents * Completed application forms 1 and 2 (hand signed)
* Officially certified copies of the diplomas
* Officially certified copies of original transcripts of grades (Your final average grade and the general margins of the grading system of the university must be recognizable)
* Official list of all the subjects of previous study
* Officially certified copy of passport
* Proof of English proficiency
* The Uni-Assist organization debit/credit card form or the pay slip
Unnecessary documents Please do not attach the following documents:
* recommendation letters (it will not increase your chance of acceptance)
* documents from your early education or high school
* German language certificates (In contrast to the information given from Uni-Assist, such documents are not necessary for the degree program of Biomedical Engineering)
Costs for the application The application is free of charge, however, additional charges apply from Uni-Assist.

Decision about admission A decision about admission will be sent within three months after Uni-Assist has received the completed documents and all fees have been paid.
